2009-2010- അദ്ധ്യയന വര്‍ഷത്തില്‍ എന്റെ ക്ലാസില്‍ പഠിച്ചിരുന്ന മുഹമ്മദ് രിഫായിയുടെ രചനകള്‍ “പൂമൊട്ടു്” എന്ന പേരില്‍ പുസ്തകമാക്കി, കഴിഞ്ഞ മാസം പ്രകാശനം ചെയ്തു. ഗണിത ക്ലാസിലും പുസ്തകം വായിച്ചിരിക്കാന്‍  ഇ‍ഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്ന കുട്ടിയാണു് രിഫായി. അതു് അവന്റെ എഴുത്തിലും വ്യക്തമാണു്. ആ മികവാണു് ഒരു പുസ്തകമായി ഇറക്കാന്‍ എന്നെ പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചതു്. കൂടുതല്‍ വിവരങ്ങളും, പുസ്തകത്തിന്റെ ഡിജിറ്റല്‍ പതിപ്പും ബ്ലോഗില്‍ ഇട്ടിട്ടു​​ണ്ടു്.

GIMP Video Tutorials

Here is a set of video tutorials on GIMP in malayalam. The tutorials are created by Jipson Jacob, A. V HS Ponnani using the software gtk-recordmydesktop.

GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages.

• ഐ.ടി ഒരു വിഷയമായിരിക്കുകയും മറ്റു വിഷയങ്ങളുടെ പഠനബോധനപ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് സഹായകമായി വര്‍ത്തിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യേണ്ട ബഹുതല ഉപകരണമായി ഐ.സി.ടി. എന്ന പരിണിതശാഖ മാറേണ്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇവിടെയാണ് പാഠപുസ്തകപരിഷ്കരണത്തിന്റെ പ്രസക്തിയും ഉള്ളടക്കവും ചര്‍ച്ചാവിഷയമാകുന്നത്. NCFന്റെ പ്രവിശ്യഘടകമായ KCFന്റെ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസസമീപനങ്ങളിലെ അഷ്ടകല്പനകള്‍ ഒരു വിഷയം എന്ന നിലയില്‍ ഐ.സി.ടി.യും സ്വീകരിക്കേണ്ടതുണ്ട്, ചുറ്റുപാടും തനതുകണ്ടെത്തലുകളും വിശ്വമാനവികതയുമെല്ലാം കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ പഠനത്തില്‍ സാധിതവുമാണ്.

• ഐ.സി.ടി. പാഠപുസ്തകത്തിലെ വിഭവങ്ങളില്‍ ഇതരവിഷയങ്ങളിലെ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറിധിഷ്ഠിത പഠനസാമഗ്രികളുടെ സവിസ്തരപഠനം ഉള്‍​പ്പെടുത്തുന്നത് ഉദാത്തമായ കാഴ്ചപ്പാടാണ്, ഗഹനമായ ചിന്താവിഷയമാണ്. നിലവിലുള്ള ഐ.ടി. പഠനസമയവും ചില ക്രമീകരണങ്ങളും കൂടിയായാല്‍ ​എല്ലാ വിഷയങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ഓരോ പീരിയഡ് വീതമെങ്കിലും ‘Smart Class Room’ നടപ്പിലാക്കാം. ഇതോടെ ഐ.ടി. ഒരു വിഷയമായി നിലനില്‍​ക്കേണ്ടിവരില്ല. എന്നാല്‍ നമ്മുടെ അധ്യാപകസമൂഹം ഇതിന് പൂര്‍ണ്ണസജ്ജമാണോ അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ പക്വത നേടിയോ ​​​​എന്നത് സംശയമാണ്.

• ഇപ്പോള്‍ പരിശീലനം നല്‍കിവരുന്ന ഗണിതശാസ്​ത്ര പഠനസോഫ്റ്റുവെയറുകളില്‍ പ്രാവീണ്യം നേടുന്ന അധ്യാപകരില്‍ ഒരു വിഭാഗത്തിന് കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനത്തിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനാശയങ്ങള്‍ നിലനിര്‍ത്താനോ ശീലമാക്കുവാനോ കഴിയാത്ത‌ പ്രതികൂലസാഹചര്യങ്ങളാണുള്ളത്. Dr.Geo, KIG തുടങ്ങിയവയിലെ ലളിതനിര്‍മ്മിതി(Macro)കളുടെ സഹായത്തോടെ ചോക്ക്ബോര്‍ഡ് ഉപയോഗത്തിന് പകരമായി അധ്യാപകര്‍ക്കു മാത്രമായി ഇവ ഉപയോഗിക്കാം. ഇതിലൂടെ കുട്ടിയിലേക്ക് അതിവേഗം, കൃത്യതയോടെ, ആകര്‍ഷകമായി പാഠ്യവസ്തു വിനിമയം ചെയ്യാന്‍ കഴിയും. സ്​കൂളുകളിലെ Multi Media Rooms, ROT, Laptop in Class Rooms ഇവയിലൂടെ താ‌ത്പര്യമുള്ള വിഷയാധ്യാപകര്‍ക്ക് ക്ലാസ്സുകള്‍ നടത്താവുന്നതാണ്.

• സ്​കൂളുകളിലെ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ ക്ല‌ബുകളില്‍ ഐ.ടി. അധിഷ്ഠിത പഠനസോഫ്റ്റുവെയറുകള്‍ താത്പര്യമുള്ള വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍ പരിശീലിക്കുന്നതിന്‌ അവസരമൊരുക്കുകയും വിവിധ വിഷയങ്ങള്‍ ഐ.ടി.യിലൂടെ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുന്ന അധ്യാപകര്‍ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടര്‍ ക്ല‌ബുകളില്‍ സജീവമായി പങ്കെടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യണം. ഇതിനായി അധ്യയനസമയത്തിനുപരിയായ സമയം കണ്ടെത്തണം ; ശനിയാഴ്ചകള്‍ ക്ലബ് പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി വിനിയോഗിക്കാവുന്നതാണ്. കൂടുതല്‍ സോഫ്റ്റുവെയറുകള്‍ പരിചയപ്പെടാനും വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികളുടെ അഭിരുചികള്‍ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ് ദിശാബോധം നേടുന്നതിന് ഇത്തരം സംഘപഠനങ്ങള്‍ ഉപ‌കരിക്കും. ഐ.ടി. മേളകളിലെ മത്സരയിനങ്ങളില്‍ ക്ലബ് പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളുടെ അര്‍ത്ഥപൂര്‍ണ്ണമായ മൂല്യനിര്‍ണ്ണയനത്തിന് വേദിയാകണം.

• പാഠപുസ്തകനിര്‍മ്മിതിയിലെ ഇപ്പോഴുള്ള സ്​പൈറല്‍ സമീപനം തുടരണം. പ്രാഥമികഘട്ടം ഏഴാം തരത്തിലോ എട്ടിലോ അവസാനിക്കണം. അടുത്തഘട്ടം കാലികസ്വഭാവമുള്ളതും തൊഴിലധിഷ്ഠിത സമീപനമുള്ളതുമായ സോഫ്റ്റുവെയറുകള്‍ പരിശീലിക്കണം. സ്വതന്ത്രസോഫ്റ്റുവെയറിലെ OS പരിഷ്കരിക്കുമ്പോഴുണ്ടാകുന്ന Hardware Compatability ​ഒരു നിശ്ചിത തലമുറ കമ്പ്യൂട്ടറുകളെക്കൂടി ഉള്‍​ക്കൊ‌ള്ളിക്കുന്ന വിധത്തില്‍ വഴക്കമുണ്ടായിരിക്കണം. അനിമേഷന്‍, ദൃശ്യ-ശ്രാവ്യ എഡിറ്റിംഗ്, പേജ് ഡിസൈനിംഗ്, വെബധിഷ്ഠിത പ്രോഗ്രാമിംഗ് ഇവയുടെ പ്രാരംഭപഠനം കൂടി ഉള്‍​പ്പെടുത്തുന്നത് അഭികാമ്യമായിരിക്കും.

• മാറ്റത്തിനുവേണ്ടിയുള്ള മാറ്റമല്ല ഒരു പാഠപുസ്തകത്തിന്റെ പിറവിക്ക് നിദാനം ; ആവശ്യകതയുടെ അനിവാര്യമായ സാഹചര്യം നല്‍കുന്ന സമ്മര്‍ദ്ദമായിരിക്കണം. ഇതര സമ്പ്രദായങ്ങളിലും വൈദേശികസമൂഹങ്ങളിലും നമ്മുടെ സമീപനത്തിന് പകരം വയ്​ക്കാവുന്ന ഒന്നും (എനിക്ക്) കണ്ടെത്താനായില്ല. സ്വതന്ത്രസോഫ്റ്റുവെയറുകളുടെ ഈറ്റില്ലങ്ങളില്‍​പ്പോലും ഒരു വ്യവസ്ഥാപിത പാഠ്യക്രമം ഇല്ലെന്നു തോന്നുന്നു. നമുക്ക് മാതൃക നാം തന്നെ!

Six years ago, the internet was limited both in what it could do and in who used it. Many people had heard the word but did not have a clue what it was. Today, most teachers have not only been exposed to the internet but also have access at home or at school. In fact, a large number of schools are being retrofitted to place the internet in every classroom. Even more exciting than this is the newest technology: Wireless. A school can purchase a ‘Portable Classroom’. This consists of laptops networked together, allowing students to work at their desks WITHOUT wires. If the laptops are networked to a printer, students can print from their personal computer to the classroom printer. Imagine the possibilities!

Dr Geo and KIG are interactive geometry softwares. They allows the construction of interactive geometric figures. This means one can draw geometric figure based on mathematic property but also can move part of the figure in respect with its properties. Dr Geo and KIG are educational oriented softwares. It’s an observatory to explore geometry situation in an interactive way in opposition to figure drawn on a sheet of paper. The user interface has been thing to be simple but efficient for young users. In this idea, Dr Geo and KIG can also handle different languages. It can be used by mathematics teachers in a class room to make a show or in a computer class room. Also the teacher can share them with its students.
